May 29, 2001--Contribute to "The Encyclopedia of Water".
John Wiley and Sons Publishers is attempting to locate water professionals,
educators, and graduate students who are interested in contributing one
or more subject essays to this four-volume work.
The project is described at http://www.wileywater.com.
Currently there are about 1400 entries listed among 14
categories covering all aspects of water science,
engineering, and management. John Wiley & Sons will allow up to 2100 entries, so
the editors are not only looking for authors for the existing entrees, but also suggestions for
entries thus far overlooked.
Each entry may contain between 500 and 4000 words, with illustrations, and
will list the name of the author. Each author will be to able choose
$100 in books from Wiley catalogues for each entry they compose.
Requests to author an existing entry or suggest and author a new entry are made
through a simple four-step online process at www.wileywater.com.
Once approved, authors will have six months or more to complete their entries.
The project will continue through 2003 and publication will be in 2004.
The team of editors is led by Jack Keeley, Retired Chief of Groundwater Research
at the USEPA Kerr Water Resource Research Laboratory in Ada, Oklahoma, who
will finalize all entries.
